How Alo Moves Members Design Their Home Practice
Method #1: Watch the class first
“I tried different instructors just by watching them. I chose three of them (I liked their voice and way to explain and motivate) and then started a journey with my favorite instructors. I have two to three workouts I do when I feel the urge to do them (like this core workout by Patrick Beach).” - Kaja T.
Method #2: Search for keywords
“I usually search for what I need to work on or improve; for example, squats or hip mobility. And if I find a class that I like, I continue to do the whole series linked to that class.” - Mariana A.
Method #3: Choose a random class or post in the Facebook group for suggestions
“I think it depends on what you want to practice and what your goals are. But a lot of the content is similar from series to series and it doesn’t matter which one you pick — it just provides great variety for people who practice regularly. I don’t stress too much and just dive in. But if you post about what you’re looking for, I’m sure people can make recommendations.” - Rosalind S.
Method #4: Aim for variety and see what sticks
“My best advice is to just try different instructors and series and see what works and what does not work. For instance, I got completely through Rise & Shine: Morning Yoga with Jacquelyn Umof. These workouts are 17 to 25 minutes long.” - Diana C.
Method #5: Start with a series
“Pick a series and follow the daily recommendation. Just click play.” - Alexandria G.
Method #6: Sort by skill level
“You have to choose based on your skill level. From there, pick up the shorter classes from many teachers and try a class with one of them that you feel comfortable with.” - Rodrigo S.
Method #7: Create your own playlists
“Do a playlist. Sit down for 30 minutes and see what catches your attention. Try to make playlists by time or sensation (like power, meditation, etc.), and then when you want to practice, just head to your playlist!” - Dan V.
Method #8: See what’s popular
“It's easy to get caught up in all of the choices, but just diving in and choosing the first one that looks good to you is a good way to go! And from there, you can figure out what you liked or didn't like. You can also sort by "most popular" in each category to see what everyone else on the platform really loves!” - Katie W.
Method #9: Practice the weekly Alo Moves playlists
“I'd recommend checking out the Alo Moves playlists at the bottom of the homepage to find new classes to try or different instructors to practice with.” - McKenna T.
Method #10: Plan classes in advance to avoid decision fatigue
“I try to plan ahead the night before and pick one or two options for the next day and stick with that.” - Nicole F.
