Tropical Chocolate Protein Smoothie
If you thought tropical flavors don’t go with chocolate, think again. This smoothie recipe, brought to you by Alo Moves yoga instructor Ashley Galvin, is proof you can have the best of both worlds. Think of this smoothie’s flavor as similar to dipping fruit in chocolate fondue, but given a good-for-you makeover in the form of chocolate protein powder and cacao nibs. You’ll also pack in the greens with spinach and green juice powder, making this smoothie the perfect post-workout snack — or as Ashley says, her “go-to” smoothie.
Ingredients:
Coconut water
2 handfuls of fresh spinach
1 banana
A handful of frozen pineapple
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (Ashley uses Organifi)
1 scoop Green Juice Powder (Ashley uses Organifi)
A small handful of cacao nibs
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, except the cacao nibs, in a blender.
Blend until smooth. Add more coconut water if the consistency is too thick and blend again.
Top with cacao nibs.
