Wellness Rituals and Practices for Pisces Season

Pisces season can get really emotional, and even the most detached signs can start feeling a little watery. But Pisces is also a nurturing, creative, and wise sign that can get us out of our shells and show us not just how to be empathetic with others, but tender with ourselves.

Here are a few ideas for taking care of yourself during Pisces season and using that vulnerability that comes with it as a tool for strength.

Water Salutations

You probably know about Sun Salutations, but have you tried a Water Salutation? This simple yoga sequence can help you welcome the more dreamy, freestyle vibes of the season. Alo Moves instructor Carling Harps can show you how with this step-by-step guide.

Journaling

Maybe you already have a regular journaling practice, especially if you are a Pisces — but with the season unlocking creativity, intuition, and emotional self-expression, it’s an especially good time to process your feelings on a page.

If you’re an air sign or an air moon, you might take this opportunity to practice the kind of deep emotional vulnerability that you tend to avoid. Don’t worry, you can burn what you wrote afterwards.

Herbal Baths

Baths are a powerful tool in herbal magic and can spread power and intention throughout the body. They’re also a classic healing ritual that’s especially appropriate for Pisces self-care. Gather your favorite herbs and essential oils (Just a few drops — be nice to your skin!), light some candles, and get ready for a long soak.

Need some ideas? Chamomile is a water-ruled herb that makes a relaxing addition to a bath, and you can add a tea bag (or open one) right into the water. Roses, also ruled by water, can help bring peace. If you’re seeking grounding and intention, soak up your feelings with mugwort for strength, protection, and healing.

Don’t have a bath? Add a little extra intention to your shower, whether it’s using a special soap, making a shower bomb, or sprinkling a surface with some essential oils.

Introspective Meditation

Pisces season encourages us to dip inward and shift our perspectives, and meditation can help give us that space to do the work. Harness that water energy with Alo Moves instructor Jackie Stewart’s ocean meditation, or bring a fresh perspective to your inner life with Sah D’Simone’s Make Peace With Your Emotions class.

Hiking

Hiking can help you get out of your comfort zone and daily grind to reflect and spend a little time with yourself. Connecting with the earth can help us put the work we do on ourselves during the season into practice. You could revisit a hike that you know inspires you or treat yourself to the experience of a fresh trail.
