Adorable French Bulldog, good music, delicious protein pancakes...say no more. We can’t get enough of this morning routine by Alo Moves fitness instructor Roxie Jones. Read on to learn more about how this nutrition and strength coach starts off a productive day.

Here's my standard morning routine during the week when I'm teaching classes live from my living room!

6:00 a.m. - Wake up (I can't sleep past 7:30 a.m. even without an alarm. I'm a morning person by nature!) and clean up my puppy's playpen area. She's a 6-lb. French Bulldog and her name is Ube, like the purple yam! I just got her a few weeks ago, so we're learning how to potty train. She likes to be held while I'm doing my morning rituals.

6:15 a.m. - Head over to the kitchen. I always start my morning with 20 oz. of water and a hydration supplement from Hydrant. I believe in flushing the digestive system out with water before any coffee, plus it's an easy way to make sure I get an early start on my gallon. I do this while I'm making my coffee, which I have with a packet of stevia and almond milk. I can't start my morning without coffee because

 1. I've been addicted since I was 13

2. It tastes and smells delicious!

6:30 a.m. - Grab my coffee and sit at my kitchen table while cradling Ube in one arm and checking social media and the news like TikTok, Instagram, and The New York Times. When I've checked all updates, I get to programming my classes for the day because I feel the most clear-headed in the a.m. After that, I get to making the Spotify playlist for class, which I update every day! I treat it similarly to a SoulCycle playlist because of how it's structured and it's nice to have new music for every class. Music can shape a workout experience in group fitness.

7:30 a.m. - Once I finish all the pre-class prep, I put Ube back in her playpen area and she goes back to bed. I proceed to get ready by setting up my lights and computer for class and getting dressed in my workout clothes. I put on a touch of makeup after wiping my face with a towelette to look professional on camera and make sure my hair is pulled back. Teaching Zoom classes is a production and it needs to look professional to the clients!

7:55 a.m. - Class begins and we usually finish after 50 minutes. I spend about 10 minutes answering questions and talking to clients in case something felt off for them during a session or if they wanted to ask me about nutrition.

9:30 a.m. - I return to my computer to answer client emails while enjoying a bowl of oats with vegan protein or protein pancakes (It's either/or with those two options! Pancakes are mostly for Fridays because they feel like a treat). I'm currently in the process of completing a year-long Precision Nutrition master course for my coaching business and I spend time after emails completing the daily lesson.

10:55 a.m. - Time for the second class of the day! I put away dishes and get set up for my second class.
