My Morning Routine - Naya Rappaport
From teaching yoga classes and workshops to hosting bikini beach cleanups, Alo Moves instructor Naya Rappaport gets a lot done throughout the day in bright and sunny Florida. See how she sets the tone for a productive day by reading her morning routine below.
6 a.m. Gentle wake-up. My awakening process is like reawakening from savasana. In bed I begin to wiggle my fingers and toes followed by a spinal twist, and then I roll to one side to then slowly get out of bed. My fur baby Shax sleeps with me, so he also jumps off the bed and accompanies me to the bathroom.
6:20 a.m. I shower, tongue scrape (it’s a must for me), floss, and brush my teeth. I follow it up with my skincare routine, which is simple: toner and moisturizer. My makeup is mascara, combing my eyebrows, and then lip balm. I do all of this while listening to the "Wake Up Gently" playlist on Spotify.
6:40 a.m. I take my pit bull, Princess, outdoors so she can relieve herself. Then I'm off to the kitchen to make a shake. My two favorite morning shakes are:
1. Banana, blueberry, almond milk, date palm, Himalayan salt, blue spirulina
2. Banana, vegan chocolate protein powder, raw cacao nibs, oats, flax seeds, almond milk
7 a.m. 11-minute meditation.
7:30 - 8 a.m. Work. Teaching a class at Yoga Joint studio in west Boca Raton. When I'm not teaching, I'm a property manager and I go to my office in West Boca.
When I teach, I'm at the studio 15 minutes early to schmooze with my students and set myself up for class. When I go to the office, I take a few minutes to look at my Instagram and search for quotes I like and post them on my story.
12 p.m. I practice yoga at home or at the studio. That's my lunch break. After my yoga practice, I then have my first meal of the day. One of my go-to meals is a homemade avocado chickpea salad accompanied by a refreshing smoothie.
