Blueberry Almond Green Smoothie

Sometimes the simplest things are the best, and Alo Moves fitness instructor Roxie Jones proves that with her delicious post-workout smoothie recipe. Consisting of healthy and easy-to-find ingredients like blueberries, spinach, and almond milk, this smoothie provides a nutritionally balanced snack that refuels you after a grueling workout. If you don’t have any protein powder on hand, add a scoop of almond butter for extra creaminess, protein, and fiber.

“The protein smoothie is an easy way for me to get another serving of greens in, plus it tastes delicious,” says Jones. “As far as a nutrition perspective goes, it's important to get carbs and protein after a workout to promote muscle repair and synthesis!”

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop of protein of your choice (Roxie recommends Legion Athletics)

  • 1 cup or a handful of spinach

  • 5 ice cubes

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1 cup blueberries

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
