Asparagus Fries Recipe
Ingredients
½ cup of flour, more if needed
1 cup panko bread crumbs, plus salt and garlic powder to taste
1 egg, beaten
1 bunch of thick asparagus, trimmed
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (205 °C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Rinse the asparagus under cold water and pat dry.
Put the flour, beaten egg, and panko mixture into their own separate shallow dishes, creating an assembly line.
Dredge each piece of asparagus in the flour until it is coated on all sides.
Dip the asparagus in the beaten egg mixture, one at a time.
Coat the asparagus spears in the panko mixture, using your hands to pat on the coating if necessary, and place them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Allow them to cook for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crunchy.
Serve immediately with the smoky Sriracha dip below.
