We asked four of our inspiring instructors how they receive their inspiration to create something beautiful.

Phyllicia Bonanno

Artist, co-founder of Sisters of Yoga, yoga teacher

“My creativity is sparked when my mind, body, and soul are fully present and able to completely zone into my true self. It’s hard to say exactly what triggers it to start. Sometimes it can be something as simple as a word spoken to me, a feeling I get when I’m flowing, a color of a door...there is no telling. But what I do know is when it is sparked, everything makes sense and comes full circle. I’m able to see clearly and pull out raw tidbits of myself to share with the universe.”

MC YOGI

Musician, artist, author, yoga teacher

“When I’m free to be, allowing myself to drift, wander, and swim in the ethers. When I free myself up, I find that everything rises from deep within. Music, poetry, movement, and song. It all happens naturally and spontaneously when I allow myself to simply relax and be.

Breathing into being, stretching in being, relaxing into being. Whatever form the flow takes, the practice of going inward, rooting, and grounding, then opening and listening, without fail I always become infused with the muse. Whenever I allow my awareness to relax and expand, there is a feeling of becoming more spacious, boundless, and timeless. This feeling brightens the rooms and hallways in my mind, opening me up to greater possibilities, greater freedom, grace, and creativity.”

Caley Alyssa

Business mentor, yoga teacher

“My creative juices get flowing when I am meditating twice a day! The best ideas come to me when I am consistent with my meditations...and when I skip them, I feel stuck and super uninspired. Also, sometimes I wake up, put some music on, and dance around in my PJs...this gets my creative juices flowing big time.”

Eleonora Zampatti

Dancer, author, yoga teacher

“I am an observer.

A seeker.

I spend hours diving into my feelings, touching things, talking to people to find that spark that inspires me to create. Create pure, vibrant, and raw art that comes from the darkest parts of my soul. Stop preserving the idea of beauty we created in our heart and expose the truth instead.”
