Kirat Randhawa's Mindful Morning Smoothie

Kirat practicing a mindful morning

How you start your morning can set the tone for the rest of your day, which is why Alo Moves instructor Kirat Randhawa takes her morning routine seriously, fitting in a daily smoothie or smoothie bowl after her workout or meditation. We love smoothies because they are perfect for packing in lots of fiber and nutrients in one sitting, they make a quick and easy snack or meal, and they can be easily customized to fit your dietary needs.

Whip up Kirat’s go-to smoothie recipe after her daily morning meditation class and start your day with a light heart and a happy belly. See below for some of the benefits of the ingredients she adds to her smoothies:

Almond Butter - Rich in Vitamin E, monounsaturated fats that help lower LDL cholesterol, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Banana - High in Vitamin B6, fiber, and pectin, which moderates blood sugar levels.

Cinnamon - Loaded with antioxidants, can help reduce heart disease risk factors and may fight inflammation in the body.

Flax oil - Can reduce blood pressure and is high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Probiotic powder - Probiotics help balance the beneficial bacteria in your gut and may boost your immune system.

Avocado - Packed with fiber, potassium and monounsaturated fatty acids.

Spinach - Contains 300% of your daily value for Vitamin K, plus high in folate, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C.
