Kayla Nielsen's Tropical Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe
Wondering how Alo Moves instructor Kayla Nielsen gets the energy for her beautiful yoga flows? Plant-based smoothie bowls are just one piece of the puzzle. Whether you have it as a fresh burst of flavor for breakfast, a light snack, or a sweet and delicious dessert, this tropical green smoothie bowl recipe from Kayla Nielsen packs a nutritional punch with antioxidant-rich, nutrient-dense kale and fruit packed with vitamin C.
Though Kayla uses an entire bag of kale for this smoothie, don’t be put off by the veggies — adding tropical fruit is an excellent way to sweeten your greens. This recipe is versatile, meaning that you can swap out the sweet fruits and vegetables for whatever you have available and in season for your geographic location. You can also adjust the size of your smoothie by decreasing the portions, and if you have too much excess, you can freeze the smoothie for later!
Ingredients:
3 bananas (peeled, frozen overnight)
2 large mangos (peeled, frozen overnight)
1 bag of kale (adjust amount to your preference)

3 Tbsp. maca (optional)
Toppings:
Granola
Chia seeds
Additional fresh or dried fruit

Add kale to your liking and avocados.
Pour coconut water over the mixture.
